Memorable Moments, July 2010

August 9, 2010 By Christie

Carson was playing with Rosco alone. I had the kitchen window open, and I heard laughing from Carson so I looked out there to see him grinning from ear to ear, saying, “Oh Rosco. Where did we get you?” Dillon and Dillon’s Dad say that to Carson all the time, so I thought it was cute.   This is through many people telling me this story. In sharing time, they were talking about warning signs and relating them to the gospel and mentioned red, yellow, and green lights and what happens if we run a red light. Well, I guess Carson raised his hand and said, “My mom just has places she has to get to and so she runs red lights. And she NEVER gets caught by the police or gets a ticket.” Awesome.   Carson and Devon were playing house with their friends Haley and Allie. Haley told Carson she was pregnant and he was her husband. He said, “Oh, that means I have to hold your hand and do everything for you. And sometimes I have to just hold you, because that’s what my Daddy does with my mommy.”   One more Devon thing:). I was walking with my kids to Kravers to get an ice cream cone. On the way I was talking about them growing up and going on missions, college, and getting married in the temple. I said, “When you meet a really special girl who chooses the right like you do, then you will go to the temple together, and what happens in the temple?” Devon got a big grin and said, “Kisses and Marries!”   I forgot to mention this in our camping with the Gublers post, but it was getting dark and we were sitting around the fire. Damon got up to get some wood and came back. Seth was just being funny and was saying, “Look, a monster!” Well, I watched Devon and he just sat there staring at Damon for at least 10-15 seconds after Seth said that. Then he jumped up and screamed, “Ah! Monster!!!!” But he wasn’t kidding. Oh boy, what are we going to do with Dev? He’s getting so scared of things lately!   I saw a skunk running in a field at Jerry and Sheila’s house. Devon freaked out–he doesn’t know much about skunks I guess. Anyways, his freaking out scared Bailey. I went inside with Devon to help him calm down, but in the meantime, Bailey kept saying something over and over and no one understood her. As soon as she came in, she said the same thing and Dillon said, “She keeps saying that. I don’t know what she’s saying.” I understood her though. She said, “Bunk Scary!” I said, “Oh, is the skunk scary?” She said, “YAH!”, got a big frowny face and burrowed her head into my shoulder. I love how she said Bunk for Skunk.   I just realized something that Devon has always said. Instead of saying, “I forgot.” He’ll say, “Oh yah, I got forgot.” He always inserts the GOT before forgot. I love it!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
