I don’t know what it was, but last week my kids were absolutely heavenly. I think Heavenly Father knew I needed it or something. There were chores done without asking, sweet words spoken to each other, asking kindly for someone to stop doing something, getting treats for each other, cleaning up for each other, covering each other up with blankets, playing nicely, compliments given, etc. It was wonderful. For example, Carson would get more water for everyone at dinner, and then Devon would pour water for Carson. When Bailey was crying Carson would get her favorite toy and Devon would give her hugs. Bailey would sweetly hug the boys if one of them got hurt and ask them if they were ok. Or she’d act silly to make them laugh. On Sunday Dillon and I take turns sleeping in (which is also heavenly). It was my turn, and when I got downstairs I found this: Carson’s is the top on, Devon’s is the bottom. Dillon said they cleaned off their plates and Carson said, “I can’t wait to see mom’s sweet smile when she sees our clean plates!” So they drew smiley faces for me. Carson told me, “I just didn’t want you to have to do so many dishes.” This week has returned to normal, more or less, but if there is another happy week like last week, I’ll wait patiently for it and enjoy life along the way. I have great kids.
