Memorable Moments September 2011

October 4, 2011 By Christie

Devon had a drink of hot chocolate while we were at the hotel for breakfast in St. George. I asked if it was hot, and he answered, "Yes, it is SO hot. I thought it was going to come out of my ears!" My sweet Grandma asked Bailey how old she was while we were in St. George. She answered, "About three." (she wasn’t three yet). Bailey was looking at the Friend magazine and ripped a page. She said, "I’m sorry mom. I’m sorry I ripped the friendly scriptures." Carson was leaving for school and was just so cute. I said bye, he said bye, and I said love ya. He closed the door while I was saying that, but opened it up to say "I love you too!" I was shopping with Bailey in Rue 21 and she was all over the place, trying on sunglasses, looking at necklaces, hiding in the clothes, etc. After being patient the entire time, I was starting to get frustrated a little bit, but still kept my patience. I said, "Bailey, you need to listen. You aren’t listening to me" and picked her up. She said so innocently, "I thought it would make you laugh." Sheesh, talk about knowing just what to say to get you out of trouble! We were reading scriptures and we have Bailey repeat the last one we read every night. So we’ll read a part and she’ll repeat it (and it’s super cute). This particular night, she was pretending to be a kitty during scriptures. So I asked her to say, "The people began to repent and read the scriptures." She said, "The people began to mew mew mew mew mew." She didn’t even skip a beat! It was so funny. I kept on going with, "They lived in peace…" and she repeated it all, voice inflections and everything, mewing the whole time. Funny funny girl! Devon says "Hoo-waii" and "Wumpy" for Hawaii and wimpy. I just have to remember watching my boys walk down to get their ride to school, holding hands while they went. Just a cute little memory I want to have written down! Bailey is so into speaking with a southern belle accent. It’s really cute. I asked her to get off the table, and despite her resistance, it was pretty funny when she yelled, "Nevuh!" instead of Never, with a huge grin on her face. I was walking with Bailey around Gardener Village. She took a deep breath in and said, "Smells like a great day." Bailey woke up crying and saying she had a bad dream. I laid down with her in her bed for a while and fell asleep. Bailey didn’t. She woke me up and said, "You know what mom? Daddy ate your camera." What a sad dream! While in St. George and seeing all the red rock, Devon said, "I want to live here when I grow up!" Carson said, "Yah, because red is your favorite color!" Devon said, "Yah, for Pete’s sake!"

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
