On our way to the field trip with Carson’s class, one of the kids asked if we went to New York. Carson laughed and said, "That’s not scientifically possible." Then at the museum, Carson was excited to see everything. His friend Nick said, "Carson! You are too interested!" I put Bailey’s summer clothes in her closet. I’m pretty sure she tried on each and every shirt with shorts, asking me if things would "go together". I needed to head to Joann and told the kids. Carson doesn’t like Joann. He said, "That is one place I could do without." Bailey was begging Devon to let her put more stickers on his sticker book. She said, "Pleeeease? I’ll be your best friend?" Devon laughed softly and said, "You already are, Bailey." The kids were talking about wanting another baby and how it would be cool if the baby was born on their birthdays. (We aren’t pregnant, just fyi). Bailey said something about Devon’s birthday and Carson said, "Yah, Paradise Devon." Bailey was trying to say Grandpa Brinkerhoff (my Grandpa) and said, "Grandpa Brink…Brink…Brink-a-Brink?" I just walked past Bailey’s room and she’s "reading" a paper. She "read": Your body must be practical. Bailey was cold and had goose bumps. Devon said, "Whoa Bailey! Look at your CHICKEN…I mean goose bumps!" We were driving and Devon told Bailey he loved her. Bailey said, "Well, Jesus loves me the most." Devon said, "Bailey? Your family loves you the same as Jesus." Bailey came in one day and said, "Mom? Can I be beautiful?" I was confused and told her she already was. She said, "Yah, but can I be more beautiful?" So I figured out that she just wanted to wear her princess dresses. Once she had it on, she went up to Devon and said, "Am I adorable? Do you think you want to marry me now?…I’m a princess!…Do I look wonderful? " and on and on, and kept saying it because Devon was running away from her and she loved it! Devon is so sweet. When we go to church he always says, "I just love church." After we read the scriptures he’ll say, "I LOVE the Book of Mormon." We have a gospel picture book and he always tells me how much he loves that book. When all the girls in the ward were wearing their prom dresses to church, Bailey could not even believe her eyes. She kept calling them princesses and wanted a princess dress so bad. She wanted so badly all during church to go sit on their laps but was too shy. After church though, she made Dillon take her around to every "princess" and give them hugs. Devon was SO excited for his field trip. He would count down, then he said one day, "I can’t wait until tomorrow! Because then I can say ‘tomorrow is my field trip’!" Devon LOVED his tutor program at school. They have the third graders reader with all the first graders. On our way home from school, Devon was being quiet. He said, "Mom? Today was kind of a sad day too." I asked why and he said, "Because tutoring is over." and burst into tears. He just loved having that one on one time with an older kid. It’s sad but sweet!
