And funny thing, Devon didn’t want to do the Book Battle, but he still passed the test in class and made it into it. The Book Battle is where they compete against other kids answering questions about a bunch of books they’ve read. Actually, they just say, “In this book…” and then finish that and the kids just say which book it’s from. The questions get tricky. I was proud of my shy guy. 
He was pretty nervous but so cute through it all. I asked him how he felt afterwards, and he said, “I’m disappointed that I didn’t win.” but he handled it like a champ.
