Author and Artist

January 5, 2010 By Christie

Devon wrote a book the other day. Well, actually, he first saw part of the Church News in the garbage that had a picture of Jesus calling his apostles. Devon took it out of the garbage and brought it in the room. It was folded so I couldn’t tell what it was. Devon said, “Mom, we can’t throw this away, because look–” and he unfolded it and just held it there as if to say, “Duh! It’s a picture of Jesus! We cannot throw that away!” So he made it into a book. He told me what to write after drawing some more papers to staple inside it:

Page 1: Dear Jesus, I love you Jesus. And You love me.

Page 2: And I like all the holidays too. And You like all the holidays too. And I love all my family. Even Carson. Even mom and dad and myself. And I love Bailey.

Page3: And myself is so much cute and I love to play and I like to swing on swings. Jesus, I love you very much. And You love me very much too.

Page 4: Dear Jesus, I love You so much and You love me so much too. And You love everyone. But You’re sad when we’re mean.

Page 5: (this page had fish on it) I really like the fish. And You like the fish too. I love You so much. And You love me very much and I do too.

Page 6: Dear Everyone and Dear Jesus, I love You so much Jesus. And You love me so much too. And I love You very very much and You love me very very much.

Page 7: Dear Jesus. I hope my holes (from his broken arm) will go away. And Jesus, You love me, and I love You. And everyone loves You and You love everyone. I love you very very very much. (I love his pictures of people. They all generally look like this, but occasionally we have arms, and occasionally I have a small dot in my tummy representing Bailey).

What a sweet kid that boy is. I love it.

Carson is quite the artist. I am seriously amazed at his drawing abilities! He loves to draw every day, for at least a half hour if not longer. It reminds me of myself when I was little! I couldn’t get enough of drawing horses and unicorns:). Here is one I found left on the table the day after we went to Temple Square:

Thanks for the invite. Love Carson's picture of Christ – especially his out-stretched arms and halo! Great artist!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
