Fishing Rogs

July 14, 2007 By Christie

MINOLTA DIGITAL CAMERASo we do something with our boys to encourage good behavior. They have a chart like many do. They have the Rocket from Little Einsteins move up to the top for a “Mission Completion” and then they get to choose a fun activity, and occasionally when they want something really bad they work hard to earn it (this will usually take ‘longer’ on the times we buy something for them since it’s extra special). Well, Carson had it set in his mind that he was going to go fishing, but of course we don’t have fishing gear (Dillon swears he won’t fish for real until his body is useless and won’t allow any other physical activity, but maybe the boys liking it so much will change his mind:). So, when Rocket got to the top last month, we set out to buy them a couple fishing rods (and Carson actually did buy his own from change he’s saved for like a year). Carson chose a Spiderman one and Devon chose Shrek. Carson also has a Spiderman backpack, and loves the guy, but has yet to actually see anything on TV having to do with Spiderman. Devon’s fishing rod says something like “not for recreational use” so I think if you actually did catch something with it, the pole would have a sad time trying to reel it in (I thought even the seaweed we kept catching was rough on it!).
So anyways, the boys had a complete blast fishing last month–I guess Devon mostly got half naked and swam, and eventually Carson ended up also in just his underwear. It was great fun. Carson calls it his fishing rog.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
