My dad used to tell us a joke about how the name ketchup came about. I’ll probably totally mess this up, but the essence was that two guys were walking and some people started throwing tomatoes at them. They started to run away (wouldn’t you?). The tomatoes were of course getting squished and smashed all over the place. One guy was ahead of the other and yelled back to him, “Hey, catch up!” So, this is my June “ketchup” since I didn’t have a blogspot then. Here goes!
GARDENDER’S VILLAGE
June 5, 2007
Mom took us all to ride the ponies. The petting zoo was closed, they said they were waiting to get their license back. We all thought of why they were waiting to get it back, someone was bit by an animal, some disease between the animals, the possibilities were endless, but we didn’t ever find out why. Oh well, the kids had fun riding the ponies, then we went to a park that was beautiful (yet very much duck-poop laden) and ate lunch. Devon actually didn’t have that much fun on the pony until the end. I was pretty much a bad mom and forced him to sit on it while he screamed. My mom paid for it and I wasn’t going to have her waisting her money. I know, mean, but he had fun towards the end.
SUMMER READING PROGRAM
I just had to include these pictures somewhere. We did the library summer reading program, and they gave you a bag of stuff for reading your goal. The kids read theirs and so we got this mustache in the bag.
TANNER’S FLAT
June 15, 2007
Tanner’s Flat is a great place for us to get together and go camping every year for the Brinkerhoff reunion. The kids always have so much fun, and it’s relaxing (especially this year without a new baby) and we sit around and pig out on the $200.00 worth of snacks from Sam’s Club, provided by Aunt Sandy. My kind of weekend:). Oh, and don’t forget the flushing toilets. Is this really camping?
YELLOWSTONE TRIP WITH HURST FAMILY
June 28-July 1, 2007
We had so much fun in Yellowstone. These pictures are of Mesa Falls, Bear World, the petting Zoo in Bear World, Old Faithful, buffalo, etc. It was great. Something funny in Bear World, they told us to keep driving when the bears come close to you, because they like to pop your tires.
