What?! Well, we went to a used book store, and Carson chose this fun little (and a bit strange) book called “Grandma and the Pirates”. It’s about how this Grandma made great noodle pudding (YUCK!!? I ask you, would that be sweet or savory?) and the pirates smelled it and kidnap her and how her and her grand-daughter escape. They liked noodles better than “sucking on seaweed” they said. So, all day we went on treasure hunts with the maps Carson would draw. It was nearing time for dinner, and we happened to be having noodles with sauce and some green beans. Carson even ate green beans when we told him it was seaweed. The best part of dinner was that Carson said the prayer, and all in a pirate voice, “Thankful for this day…Thankful we don’t have to suck on seaweed and can have noodles…Bless us to have pirate dreams and sail the ship” It was cute. So… for FHE, I hid the Book of Mormon as the treasure we would find and explained how blessed we are to be the only church with that treasure. A fun, easy FHE and they loved it.
