Halloween Fun

October 21, 2008 By Christie

Dillon decided it was time we did the yearly decorating of the Sugar Cookies. He’s a big fan of sweets, so no wonder he remembered:). I’d rather save time and effort and make good ol’ easy pumpkin cookies cause they taste better! But the kids love it, so decorate them we will. I’m still looking for the perfect Sugar Cookie recipe and haven’t found it yet–these were definitely not it.
Although, is there anywhere that you can just buy a roll-able dough for sugar cookies? That could be a good thing…

Also, my cousin’s cute wife Debbie posted the cutest, quickest Halloween craft. So we made those today. Thanks for the good idea Debbie! For a link on how to make them, here it is (hope you don’t mind Debbie!):

Clip-On Halloween Bats
Guess my kids just didn’t appreciate the whole “clip-on” greatness of them–they taped them on the door!

Man, I’m usually really good at doing crafts and stuff around the holiday’s with the kids–this Halloween just snuck right up on me! It’s going to get trickier and trickier to get fun stuff done with all the kids, I’ve decided.

I only make sugar cookies once a year too – at Halloween time! Great minds think alike. Although, I already made AND ate my entire batch, and I’m considering doing a second batch because I like them so much.

    Cute bats!

I think you are so great that you made cookies with the kids. Brad mentioned a while back that we should decorate halloween sugar cookies…and I just really don’t have the energy (aka lazy). Maybe we’ll make turkey shaped ones for Thanksgiving? :)

Oh and I LOVE reading all the funny things on your side bar that the kids say. They are hilarious!

Amen on the sidebar! I LOVE the things your boys say. It sounds like there is lots of laughter at your house. I love it.

What a cute idea!! I think we’re going to have to do that today.
I have a delicious sugar cookie recipe we love, it’s actually the one from Alvey’s mom. We usually make them at least once every holiday. :)

You are such a great mom to make cookies with your kids. I need to do more things like that, but I’m always worried about the mess.

Cute pictures! I love sugar cookies too but they are such a pain to make! ahhh. I think you actually can by the dough already made over by where you buy the dough for chocoalte chips cookies probably made by pillsbury or something. I have a really good recipe for sugar cookies too though so maybe I will post it on the eat it and weep website for future reference!!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
