So, the past couple days I’ve been thinking, “Man, our house just stinks!” Seriously, it did, and it just kept getting worse and worse. So, I look everywhere for the culprit, something like a wet rag or food left somewhere or something. Nope, nothing. The house is pretty clean, but I can’t get over that awful smell! So this morning, I go looking again, and find the smell even worse in the garage. I’m talking disgusting smell. So Dillon goes looking out there and don-don-da-don! The freezer door was left open just a tad from one of the boys getting out some freezer jam out on Monday. SO GROSS! Seriously, there is probably at least $150.00 worth of food out there, if not closer to $200. We had a whole turkey, pounds and pounds of hamburger, steaks, ham, and about 30 bottles of freezer jam. I am so sad. I totally cried. Hopefully, our freezer didn’t burn out as well. We’ll see.
But oh, the stench. It’s so gross, so steer clear from our house in the near future. :(
I told Dillon that I didn’t even have the thought to go check it, you know, like you do sometimes when the Spirit is telling you to help you out. So I thought to cheer myself up, I’ll just pretend that something out there was gonna kill us and so everything had to go bad to save us. :)

Oh my heavens! I would have cried too…and cried…and cried…and cried. :) You are so good to try and see something positive out of the situation!

get outta town! the same thing happened to me last week only it was a costco pack of pork chops in our van!!! jake had inadvertently put the package (in a bag, thank goodness!) on the seat and forgot to bring it in. so it was there for about a day before we found it. i kept searching for a dirty diaper and couldn't find it. but nothing, nothing, stinks worse than rotten meat! ew! and yeah, think happy thoughts.

I once took out a large package of hamburger out of our downstairs freezer when I was looking for something in there and then failed to put it back in. It sat on top of the freezer for like a week before we figured out what died.
