Dillon had Devon and Bailey in the van with him while he stopped at his brothers house that’s being built. He gave Devon his flashlight and told him he’d be back and to be brave while he talked to Brad, because Bailey was sleeping. He said when he went back, Devon looked a bit scared but Bailey was still asleep, so he started saying things like, "Thanks for being so brave and being a great big brother and protecting your sister!" and on and on. Devon liked that. Well, Bailey wasn’t really asleep because she said, still eyes closed and slumped over, "I protected HIM from the birds and monsters." Dillon was trying to figure out what else Dev wanted for Christmas. Bailey piped up, "I want a gun. A BIG gun. One that SHOOTS!" If I catch Devon’s eye during something where Dillon is talking, I smile sweetly at him until he’s grinning from ear to ear, his whole body starts to wiggle, and he whispers, "Mommy!" I love it. When my kids are happy: Bailey sings, Devon hums, and Carson clicks his tongue. We were talking about the Joseph Smith story and Dillon asked about all the other churches. Devon said, "Well, the true church wasn’t here anymore. It was gone. Heavenly Father and Jesus took it away somewhere-i-don’t-remember-where but it was gone." I thought it was a cute answer. The TV was messing up during a cartoon and the kids know sometimes it’s because they are moving around (yah, we still have bunny ears). I commented about that it was weird to be messing up on that station and Bailey said very matter-of-factly and seriously, "It’s because I’m blinking." ….then she looked at me and said, "It’s because I’m doing this." and blinked several times.
