Carson wanted an Indiana Jones party for his birthday this year. We had a blast! It’s so funny how he is obsessed with Indiana Jones and has never seen the movies. He frequently goes around in the outfit you see below (well, before minus the whip and satchel). He’d wear this to school quite often in Kindergarten. Or in the middle of the hot summer. Funny boy:). For party favors I made a SUPER easy satchel for all the kids, like the one Indiana wears in the movies. I just took a 21” x 10” piece of brown felt, and folded one end up so that there was a 6” flap left. I found these cowboy hats at The Dollar Tree. I thought they looked too much like cowboy hats (that’s weird) and decided to cut some of the hat off. Then I looked at what I cut off and realized that it would make the perfect whip! Score! Two for one, baby! So I wrapped some yarn around the ends (applying glue)… and called it a whip! For the invitations and the cupcake toppers, I used the Indiana Jones font, otherwise known as SF Fedora. I made a very simple whip image using Scrapbook Factory Deluxe. I found some of the party game ideas here and here. We had a treasure hunt, and the prize was found in the trunk of our vehicle. The kids loved getting their own satchels, hats, and whips! A map for their placemats—I used one of the maps found on this website. Instead of “Pin the Tail on the Donkey” we had the kids fly the plane to the dot on the map, blindfolded. We used this plane image. I just cut out the country shapes—I am no geography whiz, so be nice:). We made binoculars out of toilet paper rolls. We also made paper airplanes. We had a good time! Thanks for coming, all who were able to! And I wish I could invite the whole neighborhood, but as it was, we invited 9 kids so with my kids, it was getting to be a huge party!!!
