Pinewood Derby

September 4, 2014 By Christie

The same night as the Arrow of Light, was the Pinewood Derby.  It was so much fun!  Dillon spent a good portion of his Labor Day building these cars with the boys and they all had a lot of fun.

Carson’s was called the Silver Bullet and Devon’s was called the Deadly Dash.

Carson got to race first and came in 3rd—you race 4 times in a round and then if you get one of the top 6 scores you move to the next round.

Devon got first each time during the first round.  But so did one other car :).

Dev’s is car 999.  I believe Carson got 3,3,4,3.  His weight fell off and thankfully we were able to get into the library and tape it back on.  We did find out at the end that if he had raced backwards (which is allowed), he actually probably would have placed.  Because he beat a couple really fast cars when he put his backwards.  Bummer ;).

And, Devon placed 2nd overall!  He was SO excited ! It was really cute watching his little celebration after he placed first each time the first round.  And he was a close 2nd, so it was fun.

Great night for both these kiddos!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
