I have to quickly write a couple things here tonight and just say how much I love my sweet family. I’m so very happy and pleased with who my children are becoming!
One of my favorite things Devon has been doing lately is going into the bathroom to read his scriptures after we put them to bed. He is also always sure to ask Carson is he has said his personal prayers. He is such a good, good kid who truly desires to do what is right. It’s so wonderful to watch him grow and do just as we’ve always thought he would. He’s just a sweet, good, boy. He’s pretty obsessed with baseball these days. It’s been fun to watch him find his passions and run with them.
Bailey is getting way too old way too fast! She is so fun to be around and I just love her. She is constantly surprising me with what she says–catching me off guard with her humor and the way she acts. It makes me sad in some ways because it’s really going way too fast with all of them. But oh how I love this girl and the joy she brings to our family. She is the designated babysitter for Ruby while the boys are playing baseball and she honestly will watch her for an hour and a half with Ruby no further than 3 feet away from her. She is so responsible with her. It’s amazing. She’s been teaching Ruby colors and Ruby is actually saying them so cutely.
Carson is such a good kid. He is getting so very tall and is just getting way too big. He’s kind of in that, “I’m still a kid at heart and want to have fun but I’m becoming very much aware of what people might think” phase. Makes me sad in some ways but he’s still pleasant to be around ;). He adores Ruby as much as the rest of the kids and is quite responsible if we need to leave for a bit and we don’t want to pay a sitter (sometimes we still will if it’s longer). He and Devon both are really enjoying baseball this year.
Ruby, I write about so often. I feel bad sometimes that the blog focuses so much on her these days, but she consumes so many of my thoughts. I have another post to write about her actually. But she’s doing so well. She’s happy and healthy and learning so much. She loves to play outside so so so much. She can go on our slide by herself and get on the trampoline and it’s so adorable watching her jump around. She’s just so fun. She’s talking more this week! She’s been so quiet lately…it’s worried me just a bit about her speech but she’s been trying to say so many more words this week. Love it. This stage is so much fun.
Dillon is working hard these days as usual. He is so good to spend so much quality time with the kids when he is home. I love how he will go play baseball with them or jump on the trampoline with them. He is a wonderful father and husband to us all.
Another favorite thing to me is how very amazing each of my kids are to Ruby. So amazing. They are so good to take care of her, playing hours with her outside on the swings, trampoline, drawing, etc. They are SO SO SO good to her. And they just absolutely adore her so much. It warms this momma’s heart to see how tender and careful and just patient and loving with her they are. It’s awesome. They are all so lucky to have each other. It is a beautiful thing watching the relationships of your children grow for the better. I love it so much!
These kids and Dillon bring so much more joy to my life than I ever thought imaginable. They are my favorites. And of course I have loads of pictures and updating to do, but I’ve been so behind on life these days. I just had to write down my little thoughts for the night :).
