Oh my goodness, how I love this special little girl. I cannot believe that she is 2! How did the last year especially go so fast. It really does not seem like it’s been that long. She’s so funny. I got up with her in the morning and started singing Happy Birthday and she just looked at me and said, “No.” I said, “Ruby! It’s your birthday! Happy Birthday!” and she again said “No.” All morning and most of the day, any time we said it to her. She definitely did not wake up on the most chipper side of the bed that day, but it was just funny mostly because it was so fitting for her turning 2 :). She also threw quite an impressive tantrum in Soelberg’s when I didn’t let her eat her frosting covered donut right then and there in the store. But she survived and got them as soon as we were home. She may have thrown the donut first because I made her wear a bib, ha!
By the end of the day she was singing “Happy Day” throughout the day and was having a bit better day :). She loved opening her presents!
Super adorable–Bailey made her some clothes pin caterpillars and drew faces on the cotton balls and everything. It was really cute because Ruby was so happy with them. I love that so much about little kids–simple things make them so happy. And Bailey was beaming after Ruby’s reaction. Really cute. I loved how excited the kids were for her. I also loved how they kept saying, “No way are you 2 Ruby. You are getting so big! You need to stop getting older and stay little forever!” I think they may have heard that from us a time or two ;).
We decided to get her a sandbox for her birthday. She liked it ok. I think Bae and Devon were more into it than her but she plays with it off and on.
Bailey and Devon wanted to decorate here cake.
I’ll type up a post to explain our little Rubes after this post. She’s just so much fun. I will certainly miss having babies in the house. It’s just the best. Happy Birthday my precious Ruby!
