Dev had a talk to give in Primary on Sunday. I was trying to help point him in the right direction but it was upsetting him more than helping. Then I realized I wasn’t going about it right and asked if he would go in his room, say a prayer and ask for help, open his scriptures and get to work. So he did just that. Half an hour later he came down with his finished talk. What a good kid he is. Seriously. He is a really, really good kid. And a really great writer!
His talk:
“Have you ever felt a nice comforting feeling or something to warn you about something? I know I have several times. That warm feeling is the Holy Ghost and it speaks in a still small voice. It does not yell it just is a still small voice and it can comfort you or warn you of something. It does not tell you to do something bad or anything that puts you down.
I’d like to share something when I have felt the Holy Ghost. So I was at my cousin’s house for a sleepover and my cousin asked me if I wanted to go on this trail somewhere to ride bikes or scooters and I heard two voices in my head. One said that I should go and the other said I shouldn’t go. I knew that the one that said I shouldn’t go was the Holy Ghost because it felt comforting. I did not go on that trail because of the Holy Ghost and who knows what could have been on that trail, all I know is that it was the right choice. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen. “
