Erin, thanks for posting this GREAT idea, and to your friend as well:). We were all excited to make our list of things to do each day. Here is our list, in no particular order:
*Festival of Trees
*Sledding
*Make paper snowflakes to hang around the house
*Watch Christmas devotional with hot chocolate and popcorn (to help them sit through it!)
*Gingerbread houses
*See the lights at Temple Square
*Cousin Christmas party
*Hurst Christmas party
*Pick family to do 12 days of Christmas and plan a bit for it
*Christmas Eve get-together with my family
*Deliver goodies and cards to ward and eat them too:)
*Ward Chrismtas party
*Make bead ornaments
*Make Christmas cards for family and friends
*Sing Christmas songs together (and maybe learn one for the parties)
*Watch the LDS church DVD
*Make a Christmas chain
*Look at neighborhood Christmas lights!!!
*Make a reindeer craft
*Make Christmas placemats
*Christmas shopping for each other and Daddy
*Christmas shopping for Mommy
*Do Toys for Tots
*Hang up Christmas lights outside
So we’ve done 3, still have to make snowflakes today:). My mom had a cool calendar that she made and would put candy in every day, so I had to add that to the paper they get inside. The boys love it!!!

I’m glad it’s such a fun family activity for you! Ethan, as soon as he wakes up, asks, “Can we look at the advent calender yet?” It’s been fun to plan for!
