Okay people, mostly women who read this, I’m sure, but maybe a few men:). I’ve had an epiphany about a great blog we can all be a part of if anyone is interested in. This is due in part to the fact that I love to cook, bake, or whatever else involves making food (well, love it when I’m home alone, not so much with two crazy boys around unless I find a great deal of patience to let them “help” me). This is also due to my awesome sister-in-law Melanie doing her own little cooking blogs, along with my stellar (do you like the great adjectives I’m using) friends Alvey and Erin posting a few recipes on their own blogs. I LOVE to get new recipes that are tried and true. Melanie pointed me to a wonderful cooking blog, called The Pioneer Woman Cooks (can find link in the favorite websites list on the side), and she is a very detailed, quite hilarious, woman who just shows you how to cook things. It is a lot of fun, and as I was browsing her website tonight, I thought, why not ‘me and my gang’ of fellow bloggers start our own little blog where we can all be authors of it and post a favorite recipe once a week or more or less, whatever you want to do! You can put very detailed pics, or just the plain ol’ recipe! ANY kind of recipe would be fun! A variety would be better anyways, I think. I so love getting new recipes, and I know, as much as Dillon says he loves my cooking, new additions are greatly appreciated!
So, is anyone for it? Would anyone want to join this recipe blog? If so, I will add your name as an author for it (just need your gmail account I think, or google account, not positive how that works), and any friends of yours that might be interested since I’d know all of you, but you won’t know all of each other (does that even make any sense?).
Okay, so on with a fabulous name for our blog…(unless you thought it was a lame idea, then just skip these, cause it’s only going to get worse from here–I’m serious–it’s late and these are just totally going to be thrown out there for you to mock and snicker at):
1. We could just stick with the cookbook name that I made a couple years ago: Hey Good Lookin’, Whatcha Got Cookin’?
2. _____(fill in this space with a great description of us all, like possibly how gorgeous we all are, or some other super complimentary word here) Chicks in the Kitchen (unless… you’re a man).
3. It has raisins…you like raisins. (okay, this you will only get if you have ever watched Better Off Dead, a favorite of my dad’s when I was a kid–his mom said it.). In that case, why don’t we just add “It’s ALIVE!!! Wahahaha!” to that.
4. Finger-lickin’ good!
5. Take it or leave it.
6. It sounds like “rat” and “patootie.” Rat-patootie, which does not sound delicious. (Ratatouille)
(more lines that might fit somehow: You get picky about what you put in the tank, your engine is gonna die. Now shut up and eat your garbage. And one more: I don’t LIKE food, I LOVE it. If I don’t LOVE it, I don’t SWALLOW. )
7. Okay, I don’t have a seven. I am totally blank, and these were not that great–possibly a great exercise for your eyes rolling, so if you have any interest at all in helping me to do this blog and contribute recipes, help me with some names:). We’ll have a vote on the top ones (all 2 people who do this with me!).
(here’s a cute quote I found that is oh-so-true: “You know it’s a good recipe if it starts with a stick of butter.”–Paula Deen)
So anyways, let me know if you’d like to join in on the blog:).
Suggestions from you guys:
Erin suggested “Eat it and Weep” That’s a great one actually!
Debbie also suggested a funny one: “I said it was good, not good FOR you!”
Rachelle’s suggestions were also great: Hotties in the Kitchen, Cuisine Queens, and Teaspoons of Lovin’

This is such a great idea! I would love to participate!! I personally am a fan of any quote from Ratatouille. I love the “If I don’t LOVE it, I don’t SWALLOW!” That’s my favorite!

Count me in! 100%! I love the name of your cookbook, good lookin’, and I also the one Merilee pointed out. So, anything’s good for me!

Of course I would want to be involved! I like the stick of butter quote. I agree wholeheartedly with that. We could call it “Eat it and Weep” (with happiness and joy, of course). Just kidding. I don’t know…you’ll be the administrator, so do something fun, and then just e-mail us all to join. Look forward to it!

Oh, I like the Eat it and Weep one Erin. Cute!

I would love to do it too! When trying new recipes from cook books sometimes things sound good but don’t turn out great, or even good, but to have new recipes that real people have actually tried would be awesome!

I’m in. I’m sick right now so I’ll have to get back to you on the other stuff, but definitely count me in! Great idea!

Me too, me too! I really want to be a part of this! I don’t know how often I would post a recipe, but count me in!
We definitely don’t need this as the blog title, but I just thought I would share it anyways. It is my favorite quote from Alton Brown (my fav Food Network cook). After adding 16 ounces of cream cheese he says: “I said it was good, not good FOR you.” ha, ha!
I actually really like the Ratatouille quotes. But all of the suggestions were great.

Count me in! If you need a different email account other than my .com address, let me know. As for the name… I’ve got nothing. I’ll think about it some more and if I come up with anything I’ll let you know. I like several of the other suggestions though! -Rachelle
