So yesterday we had to take Devon to the doctor cause his croup was getting so bad (just came on actually Sunday night). He had to get a steroid shot and some breathing treatment where he had to where a mask. Carson was very protective of him. As soon as the nurses came in he asked them, “What are you going to do to my brother?!” Carson and Devon did not think the breathing mask was very cool, either. In fact, Carson hid under the chair in the corner and was about to cry, when I heard him yell to me (since I couldn’t see his face the whole time), “Mom, I said a prayer for Devon!” Devon was pretty tough for his shot though, but when he still was whimpering and the new nurses that were being trained tried to cheer him up by saying, “But you’re all done!” He looked at them and whimpered, “But it still hurts!”
Devon got in bed with me Monday morning and was coughing a lot. I was just dozing off when he said, “It’s okay mom, I’m alright.”
Sunday we were driving home from dinner at Janina’s and Greg’s (so fun and yummy!) and it was getting dark. Carson was trying to color something and said, “Mom, I need the prophet in here. Then I could see.” I finally realized that in Sharing Time a couple weeks ago they talked about how the Prophet is a light.
Also on Sunday during Sharing Time, Carson was full of comments. He talked about how the temple is Heavenly Father’s house, how we need to be quiet during the Sacrament and think of Jesus, how he helped Daddy make me breakfast in bed, all sorts of things. He just had so much to share he couldn’t contain it all. It was pretty cute:).
Today was my doctor’s appointment. The boys came with me since Devon hasn’t been feeling well and I don’t want anyone else to get sick. They were very nervous for me, especially Devon with his shot he had to get. Well, after the nurse left and it was just us, Carson asked, “Was that the vetrinarian?” Then he asked me what doctors do besides make us feel better? I told him a list of things I could think of and he said, “Yah, and they give you a toy and toothbrushes too!”
The ultrasound last month showed two things that they have to do a follow-up ultrasound of at 30 weeks that she didn’t sound very concerned about, but they do have to check on them.
1) She has cysts on her brain right now, but the doctor says they almost always disappear by the 2nd ultrasound.
2) My placenta is on the front of my uterus (anterior), which doesn’t mean anything unless you’ve had a c-section because I guess it could grow into your scar and cause some problems but they’ll check on that as well, so hopefully no cause for alarm on either of those.
We did get to hear the heartbeat and Carson said it sounded like thunder. They thought that was pretty cool.
On to Mother’s Day. Dillon and the boys brought me breakfast in bed–they were super excited as well, which was really cute. For my present I got gardens and get cement soon (hopefully the next month–it’s just dirt and rocks on the side of the house and in the back for a good chunk:). My two biggest wants now! So yah, I’m stoked about those as well. The best part of Mother’s Day was seeing Carson up on stage in Sacrament Meeting singing “When My Mother Calls Me” and “I Often Go Walking”–he was beaming with joy and very excited to be singing to me on Mother’s Day. It was sooooooo incredibly cute and rewarding to see him so happy to make me happy:).
I am so thankful that I have a wonderful mom and mother-in-law who are great examples to me! Yea for Mother’s!

Carson is so sweet and thoughtful. I hope Devon feels better soon and we will pray that everything is ok with baby girl!

I echo Merilee’s sentiments exactly. Your kids are wonderful. We hope no one else gets sick and pray that all will be well with baby girl.

Wow, it’s only been a few days since I looked at your blog, and you have totally changed everything! Cute background. I love the cute things your kids have said. It shows how much they love and understand the gospel. Computers can be our enemies and friends. I’m sorry yours broke. Good luck with the 30 week ultrasound…I’m sure everything will be just fine. And I know how hard it is to have your husband be out of town. But I’m sure it’s more difficult being pregnant! I wish I could be there to have fun with you! Oh, and my e-mail address is eliwimmer@gmail.com. I think that about wraps it up. I enjoyed reading/catching up on your life!
