Oh Deer

July 13, 2008 By Christie

Devon had a nightmare…not just any nightmare that we were able to convince him that life was going to be okay, but this deer in his dream stole his favorite red blankie. Poor kid must have heard Carson and I in the car-ride home talking about deer while he was sleeping and had a bad dream. He’s convinced the deer is coming to our house tonight to steal his blanket, no matter WHAT we say. He’s utterly terrified, even when we tell him that deer are more scared of him than he is of it. He’s finally asleep right now, but I highly doubt he’ll make it through the night without ending up in our bed…naughty deer, stop stealing little 3-year-olds blankies!

The sad part is, last week in Heber I took the boys on a walk early and we saw a beautiful deer and a moose, and he was stoked to tell everyone. He told me tonight he wants the deer to “be died”. He was ready to give up his blankie tonight for another one if I could have found it, just so he didn’t have the bait for the deer!

Isn’t it sad when they start having such vivid dreams that they can’t tell dreams from reality? Poor kid. I hope he forgets the dream soon!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
