So I made a list of all the things I’d like to get done before baby #3 comes. Wow, it’s a long list…one that would take much longer than the 8.2 weeks I have left. So, let me just ramble and maybe it will make me feel better. If anyone has suggestions on how to simplify my life, that would be greatly appreciated!
Thought #1: Making Carson a crocheted baby blanket, which meant I felt I needed to make Devon one, so I did, and now I feel I should make this baby one, but I am lacking the desire. I LOVE crocheted blankets, they are so beautiful, which is why I just didn’t use them, because I didn’t want them to get ruined! So Sundays were the only time they were used–at church. BUT, I don’t want this little girl to feel sad that mommy made her brothers a blanket and not her…not that she would care, but JUST IN CASE they would, I feel I have to continue on with the tradition. I’ve already scratched the idea of a fleece one like I made for my boys, since the nursery set I’m getting has a cute fleece one for $10 and I can’t beat that in material anyways.
Thought #2: Scrapbooking. Ugh. I am NEVER going to catch up, I’ve come to terms with this. I got to 10 months on Carson and 4 months on Devon, and all I want to do now is do a complete first year for each child and then do a family one…but this is overwhelming me as well. Should I try and catch up on the 2 boys’ ones and just do them super simple? It’s all the cost of printing the pictures or even printing the digital pages I might try, but what to do!? Which brings me to…
Thought #3: My pictures on my computer. I love digital cameras, but man, I wish I had known to better organize them when I started 4 years ago. I have a great system now, but it’s going back and deleting crappy pictures and putting them in folders by month/year so I can actually find the ones I’m looking for. Don’t even get me started on printing them. What I do now is just put the pics on the computer at the end of the month (well, all month, but don’t delete them off my camera until the end of the month), and I wish I had been printing them off at the end of the month as well so that I could at least not have a gazillion and ten pictures to print off now!
Thought #4: I have home videos on VHS. I need to find someone that can take those and put them on a DVD. Also with that, my video camcorder is great, but I can’t figure out how to put those onto my computer which is very frustrating, like we don’t have all the software or something, so I’ve been making videos with my digital camera, which I also need to figure out how to put onto a DVD. I just don’t want all these things to be lost somehow. Does anyone have some good video programs that lets you edit things and it user (dumb) friendly?
Thought #5: Finishing the boys’ room and the baby’s room. This one I am totally excited about, but it again takes a lot of time with wanting to make some cute things for the baby’s room and sew some curtains and stuff for both rooms.
Thought #6: Garden. It’s doing great, and I know canning season is going to sneak up on me and I really am going to be dang pregnant or have a newborn and I really want to can again this year. It just feels good to know that you can do it, even if it’s just simple things like tomatoes.
Thought #7: (and #8, #9, etc). This isn’t even including all the tons and tons of work to do on the house outside…but we have dentist appts., swim lessons, VT callings, ward callings, treat exchange, helping my friends who have new babies, sorting through loads of bills that just keep coming, figuring out how to print my blog (I know I’ve gone over this one before, but there just has to be someone who you can just pay to do it!), ultrasound to see what’s going on with everything, the normal laundry and housework and yardwork, Lemon Squeezy orders, and most importantly, raising two energetic boys and being with my hubby!
I just need to catch up on things that haven’t gotten done and then stay on top of it because it is stressing me out!
Okay, okay, I admit, I’m really okay and everyone does it and gets through crazy times, but when I can’t do much I get overwhelmed and that stresses me out, which isn’t very productive. Sorry for the complaints. I know my life is fabulous and I feel really blessed, I just need some suggestions on how to simplify my life a bit:).

Christie, oh my goodness, you sound pretty organized to me. Just set realistic goals, prioritize from most important to least important, and do your best. Your sweet baby girl will come home to a loving family to take care of her, and that’s what’s most important!
I need to figure out several of the same things as you do as far as photography, and printing my blog. I keep putting them off though… not the best idea on my part. ;) Thanks for the reminder.
And I like the white background too, I just tried to find a new background for mine, and finally just settled on one. Perhaps simple is the best.

Wow! So much to do. You are one ambitious lady, but once again proving my point that you are super woman. I’ve heard of lots of people using http://www.blurb.com to print off their blogs. Not sure exactly how it works, but they all seem to love it.

You sound like me! I have a list that continues to get bigger the closer my due date (shmu date) gets. I’m sure that in the end everything will be fine if everything isn’t crossed off the list, but it sure would be nice…one less stress. I am in your boat so I don’t know what advice I can give except to keep on keepin’ on.
