Carson and Devon LOVE Bailey. Devon tells me about 20 times a day that he loves her. Every time he sees her, he says, “Ohhhh, she’s SO cute!” They both give her a kiss on the head goodnight every night, get her blankets, toys they think she needs, all sorts of cute things.
When they came to the hospital to see her for the first time, they were stoked. Carson was wearing his sunglasses–gotta let her know who was the cool brother I guess:). She was being checked out by her pediatrician when they came, and were really anxious to see her. When they heard a baby cry in the hall, Carson kept listening and poking his head out to see if it was her, and said, “It’s getting closer!” They were really so sweet. Devon gave her his baby doll he has. Devon loves to stroke her cheeks, help me throw away diapers, say, “Oh, she’s just a little kid!” He saw her all wrapped up and finally asked, “Does she have feet?” When we got home from the hospital, he kept saying, “Let’s see her little ears. Let’s see her little feet. ” and so on. If she’s crying, even when I think he’s sleeping, I can hear both him and Carson say, “It’s okay Bailey, it’s okay!” He LOVES to imitate her faces and sounds. He’s always doing that. Carson thinks she’s great. He thinks he can take care of her all by himself as well. I have to watch these two with her! He did ask me right when I got home why my tummy was still big, and then got all bright-eyed and said, “Do you have another baby in there?” obviously thinking that would be great. NO, I certainly do not. He also said when we got home, “I never saw Bailey for a long time! She’s so cute!” He was really good about being quiet around her and tip-toeing, and within 5 minutes of being home, got her bouncer that he’s been looking SO forward to putting her in. He also wanted to show her all his toys. He said, “Look at her cute little hair!”
Just look at how pleased he is with himself for getting her bouncer for her!The funniest thing was when we took her back for her jaundice test on Sunday. They had never ridden in the car with her, and she sits between them. She was awake, and pulling all sorts of cool newborn faces, and had these two boys laughing hysterically at her! I’ve gotta try and get it on camera, cause they thought it was the best. Carson would try and get serious and say, “Okay okay Devon, let’s not laugh at her.” then 2 seconds later be laughing as hard as he can again. Then I hear more laughter and “She’s sucking on my finger!” Oh, the germs these boys probably carry:). I’m sure glad they seem to be adjusting really well and they just love to see her and have been great big brothers to our little Bailey!

How fun it is to have two little boys who love their baby sister so much! I’m loving how my two older ones want to take care of Eli all the time and they love to kiss his head and hold his hands and they DESPERATELY want him to play with them. It brings joy to my heart!
