Oh Christmas Tree

December 9, 2008 By Christie

So, every year growing up, I remember going as a family to pick out the best Christmas tree for our buck, and lovin’ it. I loved that tradition! Until the day my mom went artificial when we were teenagers. That was a sad day…

So, why, may you ask, do WE have an artificial tree? My Aunt Sandy gave us her old one about 6 years ago. We had a real tree the first year we were married, and then we got her tree, and every year we decide we should just put it up and save the money we would have spent on the tree to get Christmas presents. Sad, I know.

This year, I was sure we’d get a real tree, like make it my birthday present or something, and start the tradition with our kids. But as you can see, we still put up the artificial one. And now we have two artificial trees because I bought one 1/2 off last year after Christmas to have a nicer one in the front room, and this one you see in the pictures is our family tree. The boys decorated it all by themselves, other than the lights and ribbon. It doesn’t look too bad, even with the boys’ knack for decorating:).

Maybe next year.

Bailey’s first time seeing a Christmas tree:).

I keep trying to get Mckay to let me buy a pre-lit tree, but he’s not budging! Funny that you don’y want one, but now you have two! By the way, you look georgous in that picture of you by the tree!

I don’t want artificial trees either, and I’ve got three, those darn sales…. This year is the first year I haven’t had at least one real one, I feel like they almost have a personality or something, I know…weird. We’ll both have to get one next year..

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
