So since I feel we should be focusing our funds towards other things right now, I thought that perhaps the first date of every month we can take turns planning an at-home date. It actually took a lot more planning than one we just go out for, so I was totally looking forward to it!
I got some boneless pork loin chops on sale at Albertson’s, and while I was there, got these cool ice cream dots for a fun dessert (you know, since you always overpay for them anywhere else, these were a buck each). I found some copy cat Cafe Rio recipes online and tried out the pork barbacoa and some other recipes. It tasted pretty good–especially loved the dressing!
Oh, but for the record, those ice cream dippin’ dot knock-offs were nasty. Dillon ate them both since he didn’t think their nastiness was that bad.
I wanted to rent The Notebook (we hadn’t seen it–sad, I know) but thought for sure some of my friends would own it…yah, 4 of them did. So $4.00 saved there!
Also, we love to go to Barnes and Noble and browse magazines, so I took a trip to the library in Tooele and got some fun magazines there that we both like to look at. It was fun to just have a night in our cozy warm home while saving gas money and not spending any other money, besides on the food for dinner! I love dates with my hun!
