Carson is so full of life. He takes immense joy in anything that is out of the norm of our daily rituals. He reminds me so much of Dillon for his zest for life. He loves to have fun. He loves to play around with people and to be teased and wrestled with. He isn’t the most snuggly boy, but he sure loves a good scratch back or “mazzage”. I was listening to him talk with Dillon tonight. Dillon worked late tonight and Carson was telling him all about his day. He wouldn’t stop talking. It was really cute to hear him. I love his choice of words as well. And I love that he says “ickfused” and “restracted” instead of confused and distracted. He loves to make new friends. At the store in line he talked and talked with some kid, and when we left he yelled back to him, “You’re a cool kid!” We got back to the car and he said, “Now you know his mom so we can go to his house!” He’ll frequently compliment others. Last week at the pool with our friends, he would tell whoever dived off the diving board, “Beautiful dive, Marrya!” He loves to invent things and he is so creative! He’s thoughtful when I least expect him to be. He’s also a great help with Bailey. I love this kid!
Devon, he’s just the sweetest. He knows just when to tell me “I love you mom”, and tells me throughout the day. I really appreciate his willingness to obey and help me out. He absolutely ADORES Bailey. We were at a friends’ house and the other kids were playing with Bailey and making her laugh. He observed them for a while, smiled at them and at Bailey and said, “She’s so cute, right?” Today at the library a kid who was about 12ish years old was sleeping on the ground behind us. I was on the computer for a good 2 minutes before Dev tapped me and whispered, “Mom, is he dead?” Completely serious. I said, “No, he’s not dead.” He thought about it and said, “Well…then is it a statue?” He’s always singing and making up songs. Lately he’s been saying things like, “Oh, come on mom…” or, “I’m serious. I’m really not kidding.” He’s also started saying “ickfused” instead of confused. He’s getting to be such a tease. If he decides to disobey for a minute, all I have to do is look at him seriously and he’ll laugh and say, “Just kidding.” It’s great…I wonder how long it will last! Plus, he’s funny. This is what I found in the mailbox the other day:*I just have to say how frustrating blogger can be sometimes! I had the cutest video of Devon and I tried uploading it all night and it still wasn’t working this morning. This video was only like 1 minute long! Anyway, it was so cute because he was telling me nursery rhymes and said, “Ring around the rosie, pocket pull o’ dosie” and “Little Bo Pee has lost her sheep”. He has the cutest facial expressions. Love it. Plus, I ask him how he got so old and he laughs cute and says, “I’m just 4!”*
Dev and Carson dressed up the other day. Dev came up and announced he was the rodeo clown, and of course Carson was the bull-rider.
BAILEY
Oh my sweet Bailey. In FHE the other night, I decided to go off the RS lesson on talents, so we were sharing what talents we see in each other. (By the way, the boys were super cute with this…they told me that they liked my cleaning and cooking–ha ha!). Anyways, I got to Bailey and the first thing that came to my mind is that she is a sweet spot of sunshine. She just brings happiness everywhere she goes. Even today at the Aquarium with my family, she was being pretty grouchy, but that didn’t stop my mom from thinking that she was also very funny about how she was acting, like crying, then giving her the funny scrunchy smile she’s started to do. We went with my mom and Karl to McD’s for dinner, and went inside the little cage with the bouncy balls they had. I have never heard her laugh so hard. It was like those babies you see on YouTube with the crazy hard laughs that are so contagious. I wish I had gotten it on tape. By the time I got my camera out, she was done laughing so hard, but it lasted for a good 2 minutes. I’ll admit that when she starts crawling, I’ll miss the way she goes on her tummy and kicks her legs with all her might! She signed “all done” for the first time. For some reason she just thinks it’s the greatest when I do that sign. She’s also totally imitating stuff you do. As you can see by that video above. So funny. I also love that she rocks forward and back while there is music playing anywhere. The collage right below is of the first official time she got to go swimming. She just snuggled with me the whole time. I was lovin’ it. She was not. She also started giving herself kisses in the mirror on Sunday.
One more. Here’s the pic our neighbor Audrey drew of her in church. Cute huh, and totally funny.
