Grantsville Old Folks Sociable

March 29, 2010 By Christie

I believe this was the 126th Sociable held in Grantsville. It was started to honor fathers and mothers, and the first one was in 1884. Isn’t that awesome? Since I’ve known Dillon, including our dating years, he has been in the Sociable every year except one.

He and his friend Joseph played in the show, and after that, their band played in one of the gyms for after the show entertainment.

After trying 3 times to upload their video of Edelweiss (it’s a longer video), and it NEVER working, even when left overnight, I will just link you to Joseph’s family blog HERE (just pause the music on the sidebar first). It is absolutely beautiful! I really think the song is pretty anyways, but they just came up with such a pretty arrangement with the violin and guitar.

Then their band played in one of the gyms after the show.  They did great and it was so fun to hear some of their new stuff they’ve been working on the past few months.  You’ll have to come to a show this summer!  They’ve got some scheduled already, so come hear their original songs!  They are a talented group o’ guys.

Terrific singing Dillon! Very impressive with the guitar too. Beautiful ending.

Wow! They need to put a CD out there. I would totally buy it. That was a very beautiful version of that song, gave me goosebumps! (they need to include that on a CD too)

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
