Kids Clothing Week

May 13, 2010 By Christie

This week on my blog I’ve been posting some pics of what I’ve been participating in. It’s a blog called Elsie Marley and Meg (the girls name, not Elsie) started this challenge to sew for your kids an hour a day, clothing items preferably. I have really enjoyed this challenge, and while it has caused for some really late nights while everyone sleeps after fulfilling my real roles in life, it has been really fun.

I took a bazillion pictures of the kids in what I made them. Here are the vests and bow ties. Carson’s is too small and I am unable to put buttons on it, so it will just have to be a more casual look. I’ll be remaking one for him. I had to use the same pattern (McCall’s 2332) and made his bigger but not enough I suppose. Trend setting here? Ugh. I hate that I make things too small because there just isn’t much to do!

ANYWAYS, it’s all learning and has been so much fun. And the boys and I had a blast taking pictures. They were so excited to use my new typewriter! Carson was really disappointed after we were all done. They just look SO cute! I got the fedora’s at Target for $3.24 each! I love good deals! I wasn’t even going to go there but hadn’t been forever.

It’s been a nice break from making my own patterns and doing tutorials.

I made a dress that is way too big for Bailey, but here are my couple favorites from hers.  The pattern was found at DI for 25 cents (same price as the vest pattern).  I love DI!

The next one is my favorite:

Goodness sakes I have cute kids. I forgot to mention how fun it was to see Devon and Carson singing in church.  My kids just melt my heart.  They are so full of “I love you’s” and “You’re the best mom ever’s” that my heart just overflows with love and joy.

Love all you're sewing. You'd really enjoy quilting. My parents had a typewriter just like that, lots of memories. Your 1920's sewing machine is pretty much exactly like mine!!

you got so much done! I really wish I didn't require sleep, or there was a healthy alternative or something. Think of how much we could sew?!?!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
