Dev has a crush on a girl named Miranda. But he calls her Diranda. On our way home from playing with her at Jason and Amelia’s house (it’s their neice), he just thought about her the whole way home. So it was silent for a while before he said, “I like Diranda. She was so nice. I hope she looks the same when she grows up.” Silence from him for another 5 minutes. Then, “Maybe she can play at our house someday.” Silence again for at least 5 more minutes. “I just want to marry her when I grow up.”
We were at the park and Dev said, “Well mom, you know me!” Not like I know him, but “you know how I am” type of you know me.
Devon was playing and randomly said, “Come on mom. Have I ever steered you wrong?”
The boys had a lemonade stand. There were some boys down the street that asked for a sample so we let them split a cookie. After they left (without buying anything) Carson said, “Boy, those were great customers!”
Dev was singing a song to us in the van. He sang, “Carson I love you, even when you are ornery and mean to me….”
Carson was able to see the kindergarten teachers again for Dev’s assessment. He was talking with them and one of them noticed his cowboy boots. She said, “Where’s your horse Carson? Did you ride your horse here?” Without missing a beat, he laughed and said, “Silly. I don’t live in Grantsville!!!”
Devon loves his cousins. He wants to marry (amongst MANY other girls) his cousin Elise. Or be her brother. Or both. He told me, “When I see a wishing well, I will wish to be Elise’s brother…….. So, keep your eyes out for a wishing well!”
We weren’t even doing anything all that special. I think I let Devon make his own oatmeal or something in the kitchen, and he was giggling his head off and said, “This is the absolutely fun day!” Didn’t even make sense all the way, but he was sure happy!
