Memorable Moments October 2011

November 11, 2011 By Christie

Bailey is into saying the days of when things will happen. For example, she had an accident and I asked her why she had an accident. This was on Sunday. She said, "I’m sorry. I’ll try again on Wednesday." Bailey and Devon were playing a game. I was happy to hear Bailey repeat a phrase we tell the kids often. She said to Devon while he was showing her patiently how to play, "Devon? You are SUCH a good brother." Bailey was calling Carson, "Awfum." We thought she was trying to say awesome, even though she can say that perfectly. So I asked her, "What does awfum mean?" She said, "It means…important to caterpillars." Bailey was eating along, minding her own business and singing to herself while we were eating dinner. She said, "Oh! I didn’t expect that!" Don’t know what about, but it was cute. Dillon was trying to tell Carson about Portuguese. Carson kept saying, "Porkacheese." Devon said to me, "I just LOVE our church. Will we always go to this church?" I asked if he was talking about our church or our ward, and he said, "Our church. Oh yah, the Church of Jesus Christ. I love it. Will we always go to this church?" He was beaming while he talked. So cute and sweet. Bailey loves an Elmo DVD that sings on top of Spaghetti. If she tells me she wants that show, she’ll say, "I want the top of Busketti show." Bailey saw a picture of an older couple in the Ensign. She said, "That’s my Grandma." I laughed, "Oh yah? Grandma who?" She didn’t even hesitate. "Grandma Flowers. And that’s my Grandpa." I asked Grandpa Who? She said, "Grandpa Hay." Bailey was playing on the couch cushions while I was reading. She fell down and the big cushion landed on top of her, so she was completely hidden. She was quiet for a few seconds and I heard her little voice say, "Uh, a little help here." Out of the blue Devon said, "Mom, this boy at school is teasing me and Kimberly. Because we’re in love." then looked at me with a sad face. Oh, it was so cute and funny to Dillon and I. Today the boys dressed in red for drug free week. During FHE, Dillon asked Devon what he had going on this week. Devon said, "Well, we did drugs today." Carson was teasing Devon in a game they were playing. Instead of saying, "I’m not going to fall for that one." Devon said, "I’m not going crazy for it." I know I’m recording a lot of what Bailey does but she’s just at a funny age! The boys do their homework…so does Bailey. She does reading time and really pretends to read the whole book. She wants to do flashcards wit me also–and she’s very confident in her answers. I was waiting to pick up the boys from school and Bailey was in the front seat with me, with the window down. She started to say hello to everyone, but not just say hi, she made up names for every person walking past. "Hello, Baker." "Hello, Evelee." Bailey was playing with the boys and Dillon and shot Dillon dead. Dillon was great and died slowly and tragically…to which Bailey happily yelled, "Yay! I killed him!" Bailey likes to say "eek!" Like, "Eek! I have to go pee!" Bailey and I were in the kitchen when she said, "God loves you." So sweet.

Fun memories! I love it when kids are little and talk well because they do say the funniest things.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
