Christmas Eve!

December 27, 2011 By Christie

Christmas Eve afternoon was spent at Rachelle’s house for a great program and dinner.  It was a lot of fun and I wish I wasn’t lazy and had taken out my camera, but I didn’t.  I always like it because we sing a lot and have neat stories told and it’s a spiritual program.    Once we got home, we wrote out our “gifts” to Jesus this year.  I always love reading the past years—we started when Devon was 3 so that has been cute to see their gifts from previous years that we just keep in the white stocking.  After that, we opened the sibling gifts.  I wish I had just put on my other lens because the one I had on doesn’t autofocus, which is ok when you have time but not as much with excited kids!  As I said before, the kids had a budget of about $6.00-$8.00 to spend on the name they drew.  Devon bought Bailey a ball, a $1.00 outfit for her zhu zhu pet, a treat, and some bathtub paints.  DSC_0224DSC_0225 Bailey bought Carson some cookies, a lego figure, and pokemon cards.DSC_0226 (these next pics were a bit more focused and after messing around a bit with my settings I got some better ones, although still overexposed)DSC_0227-2DSC_0228-2 Carson bought Dev some candy, made him a…? (not really sure what it was, but it was sweet that he made him something), and a light saber.  You can see how totally stoked Devon was to get his own.  Jedi battles have been in full force around here now that they both have one!DSC_0230-2DSC_0231-1DSC_0232-2DSC_0233-2DSC_0235-2 Dev was so cute and excited he couldn’t contain his love for Carson anymore and ran to give him a huge hug.  Then it was hugs all around.  DSC_0236DSC_0238-2DSC_0239DSC_0240-2 Another out of focus.  Blah.  I still love Dev’s happy face in it though.DSC_0241-2DSC_0242-2DSC_0243-2DSC_0244-2DSC_0245 After that, we spread out the reindeer food, set out milk and cookies, and read the Grinch.  Bailey slept on the bottom bunk with Devon and they had a heck of a time falling asleep, but they finally did. We were so lucky though.  Dillon and I were watching A Christmas Story and I suggested he start setting up the Santa presents and I’d help however I could.  He said “Well, I don’t know if we should yet…I think they are still awake.” So we didn’t.  About 5 minutes later Devon and Bailey showed up downstairs where we were.  Thank goodness Dillon decided to wait!  One neat thing was that Carson and Devon were talking about how excited they thought the little boy would be to open out present that we bought him from our ward’s Christmas Giving Tree.  We were talking about how fun it is that all our kids still believe in Santa!  Hopefully one more year…DSC_0246-2

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
