December 21

December 21, 2013 By Christie

Phone update from 9:30 in the morning:  Had a good night.  Little sad from pain.  X-ray looked good but diastolic pressure still high.  Normal is 40-60 and it’s been in the 80’s. Systolic looks good though. They are giving her double the dose of medicine to bring it down.  But they have to make sure it doesn’t make her blood pressure go too low now.  Said we will go home still today hopefully around 11!  Can’t wait to get home.  Just a little nervous.  They said the high pressure is how hard her heart is squeezing and the medicine is actually for liver and heart but the lower pressure is a side affect of it.  The top number has adjusted well…it was pretty high the first three days and yesterday it was about 110’s, give or take.  Normal is 80-100 and it’s 87 this morning.  Bottom # right now is 74 when she was sleeping.  Went down for just a half hour and it back up again. They’ll check her heart again Jan 8 with an un-sedated echo. The cardiologist didn’t seem like it was too concerning of a thing.

And look what we have this morning!  Lots of smiles!!! IMG_1035

We finally got the discharge papers all signed, were trained on what to do for her in case of an emergency, and we put her in the carseat to go.  And she giggled and giggled.  It was pretty cute.

My mom was awesome and planned on keeping the kids a couple more days while we settled into life again.  She and the kids decorated for us for when we got home :).  So cute.

We unloaded, set her on my bed, and I took some more pictures because she was just so happy!

Here’s my update on instagram: “We’ve been home for 4 hours! So so happy. Ruby giggled when we put her in her car seat and even more when we got home. Came home on lasix (to make sure fluid doesn’t build around her heart) and enalapril (for blood pressure). She is doing so well. Still gags on her pain med and nearly throws up each time, but she is happy. And we are home. And I am just overjoyed. My baby made it through!!! Will have another echo done in a couple weeks to check the pressures in her heart.”
And then my last update for the day:  Best Christmas present ever, having her home. Missing my other kids while they stay with grandma, but we’ll all be together soon. Tears of joy!!!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
