This was great! The kids had a blast. The picture to the left is them looking at the insides. Carson had to say, “Ohhhh, you didn’t tell me you were going to kill it!” Our pumpkins weren’t the biggest from our garden, but we made them work. Carson drew the face on his and so we just followed the lines he drew, and it looked awesome. He did carve out one eye by himself (the left eye). Devon told me what shapes to make the eyes and nose, and also told me to make it happy. He was so funny while carving. He would tell me that the nose was gross and had boogers in it (from the slimey stuff inside). When I got done he said, “Hey, that’s cool. Cool moon nose! Cool happy mouth mom! I like the eyes mom!” He was super cute. Carson was feeling lots better which was nice because he sang us Halloween songs the whole time Dillon and I carved. They were so excited to put them on the steps this morning (I didn’t want to risk the chance of them being smashed in the street last night since there are a few pumpkins in the road this week). Carson totally expects them to scare away the trick or treaters. They are so excited to go tonight! Carson is convinced we are going to be bobbing for apples and making the pumpkin we saved into pumpkin pie, so I might try and see what we can do (these are from all the Halloween books we’ve been reading from the library).
Carson is right behind his pumpkin and Devon behind his. Dillon did a spider and I did the bat.
