Settlement Canyon

May 21, 2008 By Christie

I’ve felt a bit like I’ve been not taking the time to just focus on my kids this last week, and decided I just needed to get away from the never-ending house-work and other things that occupy my time or distract me. So tonight the boys and I got a pizza and headed up the canyon for a little picnic and to throw rocks in the river.

Devon yelling “Woo-Hoo!” every time he threw in a rock.
After going down this steep-ish hill (pictured below) about half-way, Devon looked at me and was a bit scared and said, “Mom, I think this is a little crazy.” Cracked me up. I’m already off-balance and out of shape as it is, so I was a bit worn out afterwards, but the boys sure thought it was great. They especially liked crossing over the log you can see here.

Picking the perfect rocks to throw:).

Carson thought we’d gone a really long ways away from where we started, but the van was literally parked just up the hill probably 2 minutes away:). They were really tough though, well, after Devon got over the initial life-threatening encounter with a fly. On our way back down, Devon said, “Mom, we are SOOOOOO tough and SOOOOO good hikers.”

How fun! You are like the world’s best mother! I’m very glad to hear I don’t have the only boys in the world who think flies are out to destroy them. :) It cracks me up, poor, silly boys.

You are so great, taking your kids other places than the park or Walmart, how fun for them.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
