Last night I forgot to keep my phone with me and so got up those three times with Devon, trying not to get too mad at him and Dillon, but failing miserably. Really, I just look to blame everyone else and get mad at that hour instead of just realizing it’s one night, get over it Christie!
I went and got my phone the third time Devon woke up so if it happened again, Dillon would be the one getting up. And it happened–I think Devon woke up again at 5:00 or something. Dillon willingly answered his phone and came upstairs, and thankfully was much more patient than I was with him.
Dillon came in the room at 6:45 to get his clothes for work, and it woke me up, which it normally doesn’t. Bailey stirred, and I was verging on tears and another temper-tantrum fully ready to unload it on Dillon, but she fell back asleep, for about 10 minutes. SO, she slept for 8 hours!!! And it might have been longer if Dillon coming in didn’t bother her at all. She was starving, ate well, and then she went back to sleep!!!
The boys woke up a little later than normal, and played nicely for a while. Which was so great, because I woke up to this…
AND the clock said this…
I got over the long night, thanked my lucky stars that I was in my warm bed, the boys were happy, Bailey was still sleeping, Dillon was gone working hard for our family, and it was raining outside which made it all that much more cozy to me. AND Bailey slept until 10:30 so I could have a bit of time this morning without the chaos of 3 kids and all of them whining/crying because they are hungry all at the same time (triplets would KILL me!)
Yah, like I said, get over it Christie, you really don’t have much to complain about!
What a night, isnt it so funny how some nights when we have to get up, we keep our cool and others we dont, funny how that works..Bailey is so sweet and such a great sleeper for being so little..
I love reading your funny Mom posts! They make me appreciate the 9 hours of sleep I got last night. Not including my 2 hour nap I took yesterday as well! Am I rubbing it in enough?? Love Ya!
Oh poor Christie… I totally sympathize with you. Sometimes you feel like you’re the only one that goes through that, but it’s nice to know I’m not the only one.
Love the story about Carson’s dream!! :)
if it’s not one then it’s another. what a night! jake and i feel your woes and understand completely!
p.s. and i will email the fabric selection–promise!
What a good baby girl! Don’t you love the fact that she CAN sleep that long?! Now you have proof, she will do it again! It’s true if it’s not one it’s the other though, or in my case, Nigel likes to chime in and get me to come give him water or put him in the garage, naughty dog!
It’s been a while since I’ve been woken up that many times, but it is still a fresh memory in my mind–what a sweet picture though–how can you be mad at them when they look so cute and peaceful?
