In my search to find some cool traditions for Christmas, I read somewhere that their family would hang a white stocking up and everyone would write down what they will give The Savior the coming year, and put the papers in the stocking. So, for our neighbor and some family gifts, that’s what we did–gave stockings to everyone with a poem and picture. Unfortunately, even after going to 5 dollar stores, I still was only able to find about 10 white or off-white stockings. I like them much better than the fancy gold and silver ones, because the white is so simple and represents Christ’s purity. But I was not about to stress about it or sew some white ones since that’d be too time-consuming. So…sorry if you ended (or end) up with gold or silver, but hopefully some people will like them.
Found a New Tradition!
The poem I wrote to go along with the gift.
I know it’s silly of me to post this before some of you get them, but I was so excited about this! I think on Christmas Eve, after we read the story of Jesus being born, we will have the kids draw pictures and us older ones will write down what we can give to Him. I’m really excited to be able to have a spiritual tradition with my little family.
I LOVE this picture of Mary and Jesus. I wanted to attach it to the stocking so we would remember Him when we hang it up.

I remember my mom saying that she did this with my older brothers and sisters before I was born. She said it was so fun getting the stocking out he next year and seeing all the cute things the kids had written the year before.
Cute idea!
