Crazy Couple of Weeks

September 14, 2009 By Christie

It has been insane here. With school starting, all of us getting this week-long stomach flu thing, teaching preschool, canning peaches, making jam and jelly, and trying to catch up on housework, it has been just crazy! It’s been an adjustment for me with the school schedules, and trying to remember what days are what as far as what Cars needs to bring and what time he gets out. I guess I just feel like life is not normal. I kind of love having a type of schedule so I can plan my day like exercising, grocery shopping, reading scriptures, and that type of stuff.

Not only that, but Dillon is working on two different jobs, so this whole last week, he wasn’t getting home from work until about 10:30 or 11:00 at night. He was working 13-14 hour days, every day except for Carson’s b-day. He worked on Saturday as well. And this week will be the same. Sadness.

One week down, hopefully just one more to go. Forget about getting our house ready to sell (no money + no time = no sell house now), talk to banks about a loan, and all the other endless to-do’s–I have two pages of them! Where does all the time go? I feel like there isn’t any! I feel like if I want to be a good mom and good wife and housekeeper, I just don’t have time for everything that needs to get done. I guess I’m feeling burned out.

Hopefully I’ll be able to come up with some sort of routine where I feel like I’m in control again! It has been a crazy week of adjustments and catching up. On a good note though, Carson, Devon, and I decided that we were not going to yell and to try and speak more kindly to each other. We all slipped a couple times, but as far as relationships in the home go, this week went really well. Thank goodness! I don’t think I could stand a week of crabiness without Dillon to help.

Vent over; life is good, I appreciate that things get like this sometimes. Maybe next time I have a second to relax and read or watch a movie, I’ll enjoy it more!

I kinda know how you feel! It's always hard adjusting back to school life. With all three kids in school, they all get out at different times and Amanda only goes on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Ugh, it's hard to keep track of. You'll get the hang of it. It just takes time, and then you'll find some free time to breath. Good luck!

I didn't know you guys were so serious about selling now. If there's anything I can do to help let me know, although it makes it kind of hard being not so close. But I'd still do anything!

Oh man I hear ya on the crazy schedules! Isn't it nice to have a blog where you can vent all you want!! I hope things get better this week and that your hubby is able to be home a bit more :) I know what it's like to have a hubby gone for 14 hours a day….. it pretty much sucks!
    Hang in there!

    XO

I hate it when times get rough…hang in there! I actually appreciate it when you vent like this, because it makes me feel like it is okay when I feel like my life is out of control (which it definitely feels like right now!)

And we just heard about Devon…we will be praying for him and your sweet family!

Let me know when and how I can help. I would love to take a kid or three for you. Though I'm not sure how I feel about doing it so you can move… :) No, really, though. I'm here, let me help.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
