Bailey Update

July 22, 2010 By Christie

DSCF0452 In the picture above, she told me, “I drive mommy.”   Bailey is so much fun. She is growing so fast–I can’t even believe how old she seems to be acting lately.
She LOVES Elmo so much.  If I let her watch it, she’ll run to the couch, climb up and get situated and just sit there grinning and laughing while I turn it on.
She’s always singing songs. She sings the Elmo song of course, and even adds a “cha cha cha” at the end.  She loves the Sunbeam song a lot too. She’ll even sing that song, “Mother I love you” saying “Mommy love you.”  (I sing that to the kids a lot, just inserting their names instead).  Another favorite is “On Top of Spaghetti”.  But instead of saying spaghetti, she says, “On top Beatballs.  Cheeeeese.  Lost Beatballs,  Ah ah ah CHOO!”  Lately she’s been demanding, “Say Beatballs Devon!”
She is definitely a Daddy’s girl, which is most of the time nice.  I say most of the time, because I find that I really miss her when Dillon is home all day because she only wants him.  Especially if she gets hurt and I have this overwhelming need to comfort her, but she wants Dillon.  But other than those things, the breaks are nice as she is pretty clingy to me all day and then to him when he gets home.
She’s also a Grandpa Hurst’s girl.  Seriously, he ranks at the top.   It’s pretty cute though.
She loves animals.  All animals.  She especially loved Grandma and Grandpa Hurst’s horses at our reunion.  She was constantly saying, “I see me horsies.”  “I see me Tiny.”  “I see me Dunda-head.”  Their horses names are Tiny and Dunderhead.  She LOVED being at their house with their chickens, dogs, horses, bulls, etc.
She even tells jokes.  Her joke last week while driving in the van.  “Knock Knock.”  We said who’s there.  She said, “Bye bye see ya” and laughed her head off.
A couple days ago I changed her diaper.  She gasped excitedly and said, “Poopy!”  I said, “Yes you are!”  She waved to her bum and said, “Hi poopy.”
She’s still obsessed with bugs.  Today while eating a cupcake she saw one on the window.  At first she was scared, but she then said, “Cute moth.”  Then she grabbed a tiny piece of her cupcake and said, “Here moth.”
She wanted me to say “What.”  After she did today.  So she said “What?”  and I repeated it.  She replied with, “Nothing.”  We did that a few times today as well.  She is a pretty funny little girl.
She loves to play with her brothers.  Her and Devon make up really silly games together.  For instance, a game last week was Bailey would stand on the chair in the kitchen and scream for Devon until he came.  He’d come and say, “What do you want!!!?”  and she’d just giggle until he left the room again, after which she’d stand on the chair again and scream for Devon again.  Over and over they play games like this.
She’s a busy bee! And she’s starting to climb everything.
Tonight we took a walk and were enjoying the sunset.  I said how beautiful it was.  I heard her sweet little voice say, “Booba-full.”  She’s a little parrot and seriously repeats so much of what we say, which is probably why she talks so well!
We love our Bailey!

I love all of Bailey's cute sayings and ways she says words! It's sooo good that you are recording these things. Jessie spoke really early too and said the cutest things, but sadly I can't remember them because I didn't record them. I only remember that I was continually amazed at the funny things she said and that I laughed a lot.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
