The boys go around singing, “Hey, Soul Sister” around the house. I love that song and I love that the kids love it so much. Bailey calls it her song.
Bailey fell the other day and hit her bum hard. She got up crying and say, “I hurt my bum. Kiss it!” I laughed and said, “Kiss your bum?” She kept saying, “Yes, kiss my bum!”
Bailey has been asking us if we like everything about her or her stuff. “Mommy, do you like my tummy? Do you like my eyes? Do you like my cup? Do you like my feet? Do you like my shirt?” On and on. It’s pretty cute. Once she asked Carson if he liked her hair. He said yes, and she said, “Yah…it’s nice and cozy.”
If a word starts with B, Bailey vibrates the sound. So words like Blow and Bubbles and all those, are very cute when she says them!
Bailey loves It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown. She’ll say things like, “Dad, I saw a pumpkin. It was this big!!!” and will stretch her arm up as high as she can go.
Carson was so cute the day we were going to decorate for Halloween. Devon was gone at a friends house, and the rule was they had to clean their disasterous house before we decorated. Carson got home, took his coat and bag off, went upstairs and cleaned their entire room–not one word of complaint that Devon wasn’t there to help. He was just SO excited to decorate!
Bailey says “just teasin’ ” all the time now.
Carson knows he isn’t supposed to talk about candy in front of Bailey if she’s not done eating. So the other day, he drew the candy corn shape in the air, and then waved his hand in the air where he drew it to erase it so she wouldn’t “see”. Funny boy.
Bailey drew on her feet this week. Later in the day, she lifted up her pants, looked at her feet, and said, “Who did this?” Then her eyes got all shifty and a little smile creeped into them, and she said, “Maybe Devon.”
Bailey kind of missed when she gave me high five. She laughed and said, “I toe–I toe– I TOTAWEE MISSED!”
Bailey’s been saying that things are her favorite lately.
I was ironing and Devon and Carson were watching me. Dev complimented me on how well I can iron. Carson said, “Of course she can–she’s been ironing since she was 13!”
We were sitting in Del Taco and Devon randomly asked, “So mom, what was it like when you were a kid? Tell me about it!”
During Sacrament meeting Bailey opened up the hymn book and sang, “Jesus! Jesus!” At least she knows what we are singing about!
The kids went to the nursery provided for our wards fabulous friday. When I went to pick them up, the 3 Young Women watching them said how fun and cute they were. We were walking out the door and Bailey said, “Bye sis…bye sist…BYE SISTERS!” to the Young Women.
Devon is the sweetest. This morning we prayed for my Uncle Wayne (getting a major surgery performed this morning) and had thought about him and his family all day. At dinner time I was sweeping and Devon asked, “So mom, how is your Uncle?” How sweet to remember!
Carson kept calling his wrangler pants his Rangers.
It’s going to be a long year. Carson gets bored reading the books they send home for him. So he starts making things up while he reads, and laughs and laughs. He thinks he is SO funny (and I have a hard time not laughing along with him to some of what he says!)
I told Bailey she was cute today. She answered with, “You Betcha Mommy!”
Bailey was being a little whiny and so her and Devon have this little thing they do where they make fun of each other to try and cheer the other one up. It’s actually pretty cute and funny. So Devon started to do it to her when she was whining, and she laughed for a little bit and they went back and forth pretending to cry and whine. Finally, Bailey decided she was serious and said, “NO KIDDING!”
I was telling Bailey something the other day, and she actually said, “I know that mom.”
Devon’s feet stunk. I told him that, because seriously, it was bad! But I told him nicely. He said, “No they don’t! They smell like…jellybeans to me.”
