Big Girl Bed

February 8, 2011 By Christie

Don’t let the joy and happiness oozing from these pictures fool you one bit. DSCF4572 Bailey was climbing up onto the high parts of her crib and hanging around up there—either climbing on top of her dresser or just getting stuck.  I was afraid she was going to fall and figured now is as good as anytime to get her in her own bed anyways. DSCF4573 So while I put the bed together (thanks for the bed, Rachelle and Paul—kind of…;) I talked up her bed so much and she was really excited.    DSCF4574 Nap time first day?  She slept in the twin bed that is in her room—she just got in on her own when I was downstairs.  But at least she took a nap.  That night?  She did pretty well—cried off and on a few times.  DSCF4575 Next day?  Didn’t want a thing to do with it.  Went to sleep at 11:00 that night—without a nap that day. DSCF4576 -4 naps and 5 days later, we’re still working hard at it.DSCF4577 I even looked up what the Super Nanny would do.  Seriously.  Here’s the link.  And guess what?  That’s exactly what we’ve been doing all along. DSCF4578 Little stinker.  She is on her “big-girl bed strike” of the century.  Our boys were NOT. THIS. HARD when making the switch.  And I’d say she was in the middle of the ages the boys were, so just about the same time, give or take about 3-4 months is all.

Well, you're welcome for the bed… kinda.

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
