So we were invited to a friend’s house for dinner, but Bailey and Devon haven’t been feeling all that great this week. Bummer. So we had to do our own thing. I blame the school for my children believing in Leprechauns. Seriously—did you when you were a kid? The ONLY thing I ever believed in was Santa Claus. Not the Easter bunny, not the tooth fairy, just Santa. At least that’s how I remember it. I might have even hoped that the others existed, but it was that deep down knowing. Sure, I dye the milk green, the toilet water green (thanks to Sabra for the idea!), and make a green meal, but yah, that’s the extent. I think my kids do know that leprechauns aren’t real, but when they asked me and I said that I didn’t believe in them, they said, “Well, people can believe what they want.” And they are right! So if it’s fun for them and stuff, then whatevs. So the night before St. Paddy’s day, this is what they made, complete with a ladder for the little leprechauns to climb up. Devon made the box and gave up because he was coughing so hard and went to bed, so Carson finished it up with the note and “gold” inside: Closer look: So what was I to do? I took the money like any leprechaun would do. And I left these cute little leprechaun hats (thanks Rach!) around the scene of the crime, and a couple pennies. But then Carson woke up and saw what had happened, and wrote this note before school: Plus, he asked me why there wasn’t any presents from them. I suppose I might have done that last year. I just looked it up and I did. Well, luckily, I had bought them some bubbles for Easter and could use those. So the boys came home, there was a note to them about how they were sorry and to please forgive them. And then Carson wrote back and said he forgave them but how stealing isn’t right. Ha ha! Love it. For dinner I wrote a sentence that they had to put together, “I’m so LUCKY to have all of YOU!” And corned beef, Jell-O, all that good stuff. And that was that! I hope those kiddos had a fun day, despite the robbery :).

My kids were upset about the leperchauns taking their money they left out in the trap, too. So funny!
