After our Afton trip, we headed to Yellowstone. Not quite there yet, but the beautiful Grand Tetons. It’s amazing to me how much Bailey acts like one of the boys for the most part, but then can still be such a girly girl other times. She’s always keeping up with them, following their every move. My 3 little bears. This next one was the boys’ favorite because it was called Dragon’s Mouth (or Dragon’s cave or something like that). Dillon’s spotting scope was awesome. It really let us see so much more than we would have without it. The boys saluting me with a “yes ma’am!” after telling them to get in the van. I was driving when this huge bison came up the road. I slowed down to take a picture and the guy on the intercom thingy said, “Keep moving. There’s no reason to…” and trailed off at that point. Of course there is a reason to slow down and take a picture :). It was kind of funny. Another long line—it was a bear (next picture). We saw a total of 9 bears. Very cool. So I took the next picture because of the insane clouds, just in case it dumped on us. We did get dumped on. We had to run back at least 3/4 mile to our van in the pouring rain. Bailey had an accident and ended up in a pull-up with no pants. It was warm enough at this point, but I just love her bum-cheek hangin’ out. But we also saw some neat things because it rained. Elk. Grizzly bear. We actually saw another grizzly bear with two cubs. But we were really far away that time and could only watch them with Dillon’s scope. Dillon’s pointing to a large bird nest. At one point we were able to watch some ospray birds in their nests with their new babies, but only because Dillon saw them with his scope (once again, so glad we had it). That was super neat and the kids loved that. Once we got back, we were so glad it stopped raining because we still needed to make dinner and warm up. It was SO cold at night! Waiting for Old Faithful. Dillon finally has a turn with the camera, and these butt shots frequently turn up on the camera card. Really great, right? The kids named this stream Kindle Creek :). She’s so good at cheesy grins. We had such a great time. I’m so happy we took a couple extra days to go! It’s so beautiful there!

What a fun trip–I have yet to make it to Yellowstone. Your waterfall picture makes me think of a Thomas Moran painting–just google Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone and you'll see what I mean. And those pictures seem to turn up on our camera as well whenever Adam is in charge of taking pictures. :)

I've been meaning to post forever. Your blog is beautiful, your pictures are gorgeous, and your family is wonderful! I'm hoping that next summer will be that super-awesome fun summer for us . . . Brynn will not be quite a baby anymore and without pregnancy/new-baby, it really does make a difference with how much you can play with your other kids. (I felt like the worse mother EVER last summer as I laid pregnant and miserable on the couch for 4 months straight. I just had no energy and those poor kids were inside all the time.) Anyway, I'm loving it! And I so wish we lived closer so our kids could play. I think you're a wonderful mom and the butt shot made me laugh out loud. Love you lots, sweet cousin.

You do make that look so fun!! And I am so not into camping and nature trips… but that almost makes me want to do it with all my boys. Almost. :)
