As I said, Dillon was gone and I took on the task of Carving the Pumpkins. It’s a big ordeal without another parent to help, I’ve decided! I’ve also decided Dillon will just have to be here next year to help out. Although it will be easier when Ruby is a little older since she still wasn’t a pumpkin fan at this point. Don’t you carve pumpkins with just underwear on your bottom half? Carson was adamant about me saving the seeds to roast, and then some for growing next year, which made the other two excited about the same. I read if you let them air dry for 24 hours that helps. I’m a fan of the pumpkin seeds but not the shells. We’ll see how they turn out. Of course there was the mandatory “You didn’t tell me you were going to kill it!” yelling. Devon and Bailey did a pumpkin gutting swap halfway through. :) I will say it was great that they are old enough to do that part themselves. Though it took them about an hour, I did get the dishes done while they worked. Devon kept saying, “There’s a whole heck of a lot seeds!” And Carson and Bailey kept saying, “These seeds are hanging on for dear life!!!” Bailey’s: Carson’s: Devon’s: Ruby’s: And a part of Bailey’s Devon carved—it’s a little cat that was totally cool, but you can’t see it because of the cat sticker Bailey put over it. I was so impressed with his though! Maybe I’ll be able to get a picture. Creative kids!
