Birthday blues…

December 2, 2008 By Christie

Okay, I’m not sad about turning older or anything, but my birthday kind of stunk because Dillon and I were sick. We’ve had some type of flu or something, body aches, chills, fever, all that. I’m starting to feel better today, but I missed church on Sunday from it and yesterday was even worse. So, I’m not even sure we’ll be going out tonight for my birthday date. I might rather wait until next week when we’re feeling all better. Yuck, being sick is no fun. At least it’s not the stomach flu!
Dillon was sweet though, even being sick. He went to Bajio and got me, just me, a burrito and horchata (yum). Then I also got a gadget to my anniversary/birthday gift, which was a KitchenAid! I’m so excited about that–it was from him and his parents. So he got a pour thing that goes on the bowl for the ingredients, and also a Belgian waffle maker. So despite being sick, Dillon still came through so it wasn’t a horrible day.

Bailey had to go to the doctor again yesterday for a bone sticking out of the back of her head. Luckily, he said it should work itself out and if it didn’t and still bothered her, they could fix it really easily.

On another note, I still don’t have my Christmas decorations up. My fall decor is still sitting on the counter waiting to be put away. My kids asked why we didn’t have our tree up yet. So sad. Hopefully today. Dillon will be gone the next two nights practicing for this fundraiser he’s singing at for foster kids. It was funny because we have a joke now–he’s been gone to practice twice already, twice this week, and then they perform two nights in a row. I was a little bummed about the time it’s taken away from our family time together, and so now we quote the Nacho Libre thing, how I am like Stephen and hate orphans. I REALLY DON’T! Just a joke to make us laugh, because of course I think it’s a wonderful thing that my hubby can do for the foster kids.

This morning I read with the kids for 20 minutes. I was feeling sad last night because I feel like I ignore them all day with Bailey being here now. I realized I could totally read to them more while I nurse at least, so hopefully I can be determined to make that a new tradition!

Enough rambling–hopefully the rest of the week will get better!

that’s a bummer to be sick on your b-day! I have something for you that I forgot to bring over, my day was so rushed yesterday and then with family night and putting up one of the trees. I’ll get over there sometime today. I thought it was funny, I was still messing with my post when you left a comment! I am now getting off the computer, officially…

It is insane how many people have been really sick lately. It definitely isn’t very fun to be sick on your birthday. Hope you guys feel better soon!

I love your holiday-theme text color, though! You’re totally on your way into the festivities. I just got mine up today and (hide my face) it was a fiasco! I’m right there with you about ignoring kids. Good for you for reading with them.

I’m so sorry you were sick for your birthday!

And I can only imagine how hard it must be to have a third child. It will get better, I’m sure! (And easier too)

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
