We had a great Easter, and I hope you all did as well.
Waiting for the crazy egg hunt to begin. They seriously got like 6 eggs between the two of them…it was so busy!
Okay, this picture cracks me up for two reasons. First, when Devon and Carson were waiting, they were pretty nervous. Devon hugged him really fast and looked at me with wide eyes like he was saying, “Take the picture quick mom!” He looked terrified! So I laughed and told him to smile, and he did. After, while walking home, he said, “You know, the Easter bunny was laughing mom, when I hugged him.” I said, “Oh yah? What did he laugh like?” So Devon totally does this laugh, “Heh heh hehhhhhh”, like a total sinister, bad guy laugh. Funny stuff.
When we were walking home from the big egg hunt in our neighborhood, Carson was eating a piece of candy and said, “Well, I’m still thinking about Jesus!” There were also two boys around 7 years old just being silly and running away acting like the Easter bunny was scary, and Carson yelled after them, “The Easter bunny loves you!”
You can’t really tell, but the Easter bunny above is loads better than years past. Seriously, they had the FREAKIEST pink bunny with the scariest eyes–it was so not kid-friendly…so this year was a step up.
Dinner at Sheila and Jerry’s place. Dillon started a game of football with all the kids. He’s such a fun dad and uncle!
Bailey really liked the hopping, singing bunny Aunt Patti brought.
Devon, NOT seeing the Easter egg Dad just told him about.
And yes, I did go public again on my blog for all who are wondering…it was nice to have it private for a while, and I’ll just be careful what I post, and decide from there with checking who’s coming on and stuff. Hopefully it will be fine this time:).

Journal-type thoughts below:
I am so thankful for Jesus for what He did for us. This Easter was probably the most special one for me in terms of the real meaning. Church was so amazing to me yesterday, the RS lesson was awesome, the comments made during the lesson were touching, and the choir sang a BEAUTIFUL hymn in Sacrament meeting. I loved it! I felt the Spirit SO many times at church! I was overcome with gratitude for Jesus and the Atonement. And also very humbled to realize that I need to BE more humble. I loved a comment by Deborah in RS about how even when we don’t understand everything about the gospel, it comes down to humility. I so needed to hear that, and as she said it, I was also very aware of how much love Heavenly Father has for us.
Wasn’t Elder Holland’s talk in conference great last week? So powerful, and some new insight that I never even thought of before. I think my favorite part was this part:
“With all the conviction of my soul I testify that He did please His Father perfectly and that a perfect Father did not forsake His Son in that hour. Indeed, it is my personal belief that in all of Christ’s mortal ministry the Father may never have been closer to His Son than in these agonizing final moments of suffering. Nevertheless, that the supreme sacrifice of His Son might be as complete as it was voluntary and solitary, the Father briefly withdrew from Jesus the comfort of His Spirit, the support of His personal presence. It was required; indeed it was central to the significance of the Atonement, that this perfect Son who had never spoken ill nor done wrong nor touched an unclean thing had to know how the rest of humankind—us, all of us—would feel when we did commit such sins. For His Atonement to be infinite and eternal, He had to feel what it was like to die not only physically but spiritually, to sense what it was like to have the divine Spirit withdraw, leaving one feeling totally, abjectly, hopelessly alone.”
HAPPY EASTER!!!

I loved that part of his talk too… such a good explanation of why we can rely on the lord when we have trials, he’s actually been through it.
Love the picture of the boys with the Easter bunny, Carson’s face says it all.. looks like you had fun!
