We had so much fun on the fourth. I love holidays! We got up and went to the parade, then stayed around town for the little fair they had going. That afternoon we headed to my grandparents house and had a lot of yummy food. The kids did sparklers in the daylight and then we headed back home for the fireworks. G’ville normally has awesome fireworks, and although they were still very awesome since you are really so close and ash is flying on you and it’s loud and the people lighting them are just across the park…this year wasn’t as big as normal, but it was still fun. Maybe it’s because of the economy (say that with a sarcastic tone please. P.S. I’m sure it is, but I hate that everything is blamed on that these days!). Movin’ on…
Here are a few pics of the chittlens.
Carson had the chance to sit in a cool car (not the one below). He was too ‘nervous’ to though.
Dev was so cute leaning out into the street to see what was coming next in the parade.
When the fireworks started, he hid behind the chair. He eventually ended up on the seat and finally said, “Gosh, these fireworks really are cool!”
Bailey did great for how busy we were the whole day. She only cried once in the parade with all the honking, and it was because a HUGE semi-truck kept honking long and really loud right there in front of us. She was fine at first until he just kept doing it. She didn’t love the fireworks, but couldn’t help sneaking a peek at them either.
Yea for the Fourth of July!
I’m so thankful to live where we do and for all those who have fought for our freedom. You rock!
