I Love Dillon Because…

August 17, 2009 By Christie

He puts up with my non-smoothness, and tells me it’s sexy. What? I know…what a sweet guy. Let me elaborate. So on Sunday, I had already started the day out pretty clumsily. I don’t know if that’s the word I’m looking for, but things just weren’t going as they should. I was late to play the prelude music in RS, but I had Bailey and was trying to hold her and play. She was crying and trying to play with me, but I’d put her down and she’d scream. Finally, I said, “Guess the prelude music is over!” My friend Sabra took her, thankfully. But since Bailey is either sick or teething, she was pretty fussy still, so as I went to take her out, I lost my high heel and had to backtrack and get it on the front row of the RS room. In the mother’s room, Bailey nearly spilled all her bananas all over us trying to get it away since she didn’t want it, and when I was holding her with her bottle and trying to clean up the banana spoon, she threw her bottle and thrashed around while I was awkwardly trying to handle her and the messy stuff I had in my other hand.

After church I was making dinner, and turned on the wrong burner. Thus the picture above. Then I was making some ice cream and it was a different sort of recipe that called for eggs. I thought that the mixture had cooled enough when I added the eggs, but it didn’t. And there were chunks of cooked eggs. EWWW! I also totally burned the pecans that were just supposed to be toasted for the casserole. And Dillon smiled at me and told me it was sexy. I said, “I’d hate to think what a suave, graceful woman would do for ya.” He said, “I wouldn’t know.” Ha ha. Very funny, right? I say this in the most sarcastic voice I can think of, yet with a smile because he’s still cute to tell me he likes me the way I am.

I’d just like to point out to those of you who think that things never go wrong when I cook; here’s my proof that it very much does! Burnt plastic binders and pecans don’t smell so great, and egg chunks in ice cream, well…that’s pretty much just disgusting even to think of, right? :)

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
