Devon turned 5 yesterday. FIVE!!!! Can you even believe it?
We had a super fun filled day! We started off letting him eat some chocolates for breakfast:).
He had his friend party in the afternoon.
We played pin the eye on the alien. We made UFO’s. You can see Dev is trying to pop his balloon with a telescope inside, below in the collage. That was pretty funny to see the boys all try and pop their balloons.
They each got to choose an alien to take home. Of course I had to make a pink one for Bailey.

Check out this awesome gun holster my friend Sabra made for him. She even has a tutorial for it HERE. He loves it! We all love it!
We were good at sticking with a small budget for everything. I made the hats for the party, cupcake toppers, and stuffed aliens. For his gifts, he got a watch, a popsicle holder thing where you put the liquid in and then the sticks, and I made him this bike basket. I checked at Walmart yesterday because he has mentioned he wanted one, and they were $15.00!!! It isn’t perfect, but wow, it was MUCH cheaper.
After cake, we watched Devon’s very own DVD full of pictures of him. This is something new I want to do for each kid’s b-day. He felt SO special seeing all his baby pictures and through the years until now. He kept telling me he loved me during the whole DVD. My plan is to start this now, and then either just make another DVD of his 5th year, or add the pictures each year.
Here’s where I get sentimental. Devon is just such a special kid. He is so tender-hearted. He is so willing to help me out and so sweet.
He is full of loves and hugs and kind words.
My heart breaks a little thinking of him going to Kindergarten next year because I can’t protect my innocent little sweetheart. I had similar feelings for Carson, but it’s a little different because Carson can hold his own, whereas Devon gets sincerely sad about things, especially being left out or whatever, because he doesn’t understand that kind of thing, because he is not like that at all! He includes everyone and cares about everyone’s feelings.
I just love this kid to pieces. He is such a blessing to my life!

Such good pictures! I love the one of Dev at the end with his five fingers. I seriously think you should be a product photographer. The way you place objects, the colors you put together, it's really nice.
