Carson Update

August 9, 2010 By Christie

I just want time to slow down!  I feel like Carson is getting so old!  He’ll be 7 in a month!  Crazy.    DSCF0563 He can’t wait for First Grade to start!  He thought that he was going to eat every meal at school, therefore being gone the whole day.  He said he’d miss us.  I’m so glad it’s not like that!  How sad that would make me!   DSCF0627   He also really loved swimming lessons.  He did a great job in them! DSCF0631  He is reading SO well!  I am amazed at how much he loves to read and hope that I can help foster his love for it.  Any suggestions for books his age?  We read How to Train Your Dragon together.  He was really interested in it and actually “read” most of the book separately than what we were reading together.  DSCF0675 He is a great singer.  Must be following in his daddy’s footsteps!  I’d love to sign him up for something that he can perform in!  He can really carry a tune.  And he’s not shy about it for the most part either. I really need to record him singing this cutest song he learned in Kindergarten called The Gorilla Night by Raffi.  Seriously, he gets his head bobbing around and it’s so cute.  On my list:). It’s been fun seeing his relationship with Bailey grow.  Sometimes she’ll just go and sit on his lap and he sure is surprised.  Dev and Bailey play all the time together, so it’s cute when I see Bailey and Carson together.  He is a good brother to her! He loves back scratches.  A lot.  That’s the only time he’ll snuggle with me!  So I’m happy to scratch his back.  He still loves to dress in funky outfits, which I think is really cute.  He loves to use our dress up clothes as well.  He and Devon just barely saw Nacho Libre for the first time and he’s pretty sure that I can make him a Nacho costume now.  I’m sure he’d wear it everywhere, as he’s tried to come up with his own outfit for it and wears that all the time.  He also loves to dress like Ash from Pokémon, even though he’s never seen it:).  Carson loves to play with friends.  He’s gotten so independent being able to play outside and ride his bike on our street, which is why him growing up has really been hitting hard lately!  He loves to tell jokes—he’s always making up jokes. He’s also very into how things work and inventions—still.  He’s always telling about some cool thing he’s going to build that will fly or pick up his toys or something like that. Out of my 3 children right now, he is the one that is pushing me the hardest to figure things out as a mom.  I am thankful for him in my life for helping me see things more clearly sometimes on what my responsibility is as a parent and the help and love that Heavenly Father shows me and him.  We love our Carson!  He’s a cutie and keeps us smiling!

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
