Santa Claus

December 16, 2007 By Christie

This is the first year my boys were excited to see him (either of them–seriously, every other year they have screamed and cried!). So, we got to see Santa two nights in a row! First at Dillon’s parent’s ward, then last night with our ward party. The party was great–we all sang Christmas songs together,…

Occasionally I get this strong desire to blog at 2:30 in the morning…

December 10, 2007 By Christie

Okay, no, but yes, I am a little nutty. I will probably be pretty ornery tomorrow too, but I finished our stockings!!! I have put this off for the last 6 years, and got the urge to be productive tonight, um, last night I mean. So, this is what I did! I decided I better…

The Sunday Saga

December 10, 2007 By Christie

Wake up and feed boys breakfast.Dillon gets up a little later (he totally deserves it!) and we have family scripture study. Carson starts talking about Santa and I remind him the real reason we celebrate Christmas is because of Jesus. He gets a little upset and says, “No, Santa.” and I tell him that Heavenly…

Wrapping Presents

December 8, 2007 By Christie

I LOVE wrapping presents!!! I had some time alone with both boys individually today–if that isn’t amazing, then I don’t know what is:). I took them to the dollar store to buy each other and Dillon something. They thought it was fun–Devon picked Dillon out some cookies and Carson picked him out a checkerboard (don’t…

Gingerbread Houses

December 8, 2007 By Christie

Well, I guess not with gingerbread, but with graham crackers:). Maybe one day I’ll be more ambitious and make the gingerbread, but I made the frosting, does that count for something??? Carson’s house (with a rainbow on the side, he wanted to make sure of that!) Devon’s House

This was our Christmas activity on the 4th. They were super excited to hang them up on the ceiling as a surprise for Daddy.

The Actual Letter

December 8, 2007 By Christie

I am happy to say that his actual letter was comforting. Grandma Sheila did tell us the funniest thing–they bought the kids a sled for Christmas anyways, before they ever knew Carson wanted one, so that works out nice. He does still talk about it, so he will be stoked. Here is what he told…

Writing to Santa–HELP ME!

December 7, 2007 By Christie

We have mentioned Santa Claus just a handful of times to our kids, for just this reason (besides the obvious ‘that’s not why we celebrate Christmas’): I never wanted them to get the idea that they could just ask for whatever they wanted for Christmas and expect to get it. We are being very simple…

The New Carson…

December 4, 2007 By Christie

“The poor kid is falling apart–and he’s only 4!!!” That’s what my mom said after he got 2 crowns last week (if you click on the picture to make it large you can see the silver teeth) plus we were informed he needs glasses for his astigmatism. His eyesight is actually really good, it’s just…

Festival of Trees for my Birthday

December 4, 2007 By Christie

I’ve always wanted to go to the Festival of Trees and so that’s what we did for my birthday on Saturday! It was pretty fun, too bad my boys were so stinkin’ tired during the whole thing. We had gone out to dinner while my sister Janina and her hubby Greg watched them, and we…

Memorable Moments June 2015

~Ruby says "Thank You" when you give her anything. Except it's more like "Day Oooo." I love it. She's also trying harder to say please (or Peeeeze) for things she wants. What a polite little girl :).

~Yesterday Bailey came down with the Clone Trooper costume on, which is 4 sizes too big I'm pretty sure, and her bull horns on. It was awesome. And sums up this girl pretty darn well.

~Carson told us that he was the laughing stock of Primary on Sunday. He meant to say the Class Clown :).

~Devon's so funny these days. If you catch him doing something he shouldn't be, he gets an innocent little smile and then starts rolling his eyes everywhere except looking at you. :)
